TODAY SHE'S TWO!!! 4-2-11

Look at that sweet face, just minutes old.

Celebrating Jenna's 2nd birthday as we finish the move.

Happy Birthday Jenna!

I LOVE YOU!!

It's Goodbye to Triton...(4/1/2011)

Through terrible two tantrums (can you spot Jenna above? - it's not easy moving with Jenna under foot...), many, many questions as to where our stuff is, rain, sleet, and even snow.... I can say that we're now almost done with the move. So far with help from Grandma and Uncle Chris we've moved most of our belongings. There are A LOT of belongings.....BTW (I can't get this to post in the proper order!!!)

"Blue"

I'm cleaning.... deep cleaning the pen marks that Jenna scribbled on our kitchen cabinets, and the black paint water that Amelia and Ava spilled on the kitchen island cabinets while painting pictures for me. I've uncovered Andrew's first braces for his feet when he was one - so tiny. And I found his tiny black hand splint which helped to keep his thumb out from his fingers, and about 20 pacifers in his dresser drawer and under his bed that he doesn't use anymore. I found two huge boxes of every paper that has been done for Drew and his school - from birth! I found Ava's first love which she carried everywhere -Potty Elmo, and Amelia's red and black star baby toy that matched her outfit and was sent all the way to Guatemala and came all the way home with her in May of 2004. I found the spilled sticky coffee creamer splatters all over the bottom of the fridge and the floor. I thought I cleaned that all up!! I found tiny traces of cat litter in our spare bathroom which was our brief attempt at pet ownership before we discovered Andrew & I couldn't live in the same house with a cat, even if the cat didn't touch us. I found the California travel book hidden in my nightstand where I put it when I was planning the top secret surprise for Dave's 40th birthday - a trip to Yosemite. I pulled that surprise off so great. As you can tell I do like to document things, and I'm sure to no surprise to anyone I have saved many of my kids things for their memory boxes. First birthday cards, balloons, first outfits/blankets, all that adoption paperwork - every single e-mail, every single sonogram picture of Jenna, their first drawings and writings, and special gifts to me. I have tucked away Amelia & Ava's pictures with their birth mom's while they were still in Guatemala, and will continue to hold the pictures especially for them when they ask those questions they are already starting to ask. I have thought many, many times over the years about taking Jacob's box (the one the hospital gave us to take home after he was born) down from the top corner shelf in my bedroom closet, but I haven't ever taken it down, and still haven't. Of course I will this week. I want it kept special, and find it a special place in our new home. I've found the two outfits I bought for Jacob deep in Andrew's closet. Outfits I didn't know where to put after he didn't come home - one outfit is pajamas that matched Andrews, and one is a onsie that says "Lil Star". I think I am especially "blue" this afternoon because my good friend called to tell me that our friend's son is very sick. I'm praying he will live. She's already lost her first son. Dave is here now, and I have to stop my post before my husband makes anymore fun of me. Everyone's allowed to be "blue" once in awhile.

The latest on THE MOVE..

Here's a quick update with all things moving..(as my almost 2 year old stands on the chair handing me my delicate wine glasses way too fast as I try to pack them up).... The Radon Doctor is here today repairing our home's radon pipe system so that the house can have the proper venilation. (Which it hasn't ever had!!!) Through my crazy letter writing skills/and inability to let things go... I am proud to say that Ryan Homes WILL PAY for their poor work they did on this home seven years ago while installing the radon pipe system.... GO ME!!!
Per the buyers request, we also had a small list of outside home repairs fixed over the weekend. All the guy was supposed to do was nail a couple places on the house for $100, when he was finished 45 minutes later he had nailed, screwed, repaired, caulked all sorts of stuff for $150. Cheeeezz... Slow down guy!! We're moving here! Just fix what the buyer asked us to fix!! :)
Drew and Jenna are sick so that's put a slow down on the serious packing that I could be getting done right now, but we've done some as you can see by our once toy room, then staged office, and now moving box storage room. Also above you'll see what's left of our very rickety old (but very, very loved) swing set. The girls were, and still are extremely tearful as Dave took a chain saw to it. He has slowly been throwing away the pieces ever since. Note to self...don't dismantle beloved swing set in front of girls....:)
Our new home has some minor repairs and also the same radon issue to take care of. Those things are being taken care of. We've ordered new carpet and kitchen flooring for the new house and have taken care of utilities, schools, and most everything I can think of at 2:15am every night!
We're having a get together with our neighbors this weekend. I think the hardest part for Amelia & Ava will be saying goodbye to their best friends/worst enemies that live next door and behind us.
That about covers it for now! BTW... It's supposed to be warm here the next few days!! YAHOOO!!! Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day! The kids are in their green and I have dug out all the Irish green shamrock jewelry from my Grandma that I could find. She would be proud!

23 MONTHS OLD!!!

I'll be brief here... :) BUT I do want to say a little bit about what Jenna is doing at this stage... At 23 months Jenna has more and more words. I will take her to the store and she will point out everything by name as we make our way through the store. She still loves her books - especially the ones with songs. She will point to the page, which means she wants you to sing the song on the page and then she will sing along with you. She calls Ava "Eeeahhh", Amelia "Mena", Andrew "Drew". Just within the past few weeks, Jenna has discovered TV (especially The Wiggles videos we have). She knows to go to the basement door and point to it to ask for it. She loves to dance when those tapes are playing. Jenna is still a climber. Our friends we see a few times a year were in town this weekend and were very worried for Jenna as she climbed on the countertops, tables and brought her chairs all around the kitchen to get higher and higher. This has all become old hat to Dave and I, we forget sometimes that Jenna is a such a super climber. Today I have boxes out to pack for the move and little did I realize that Jenna had been packing her own box and climbed on the counter to get the packing tape and unrolled some tape to tape up her box! We are amazed at everything Jenna picks up just from the littlest observation. One other thing I would like to note...we are actually having nights where Jenna is sleeping right through! Yes, a miracle at almost 2.

Dave is flying to Toronto today for work. He'll be back on Friday.
