Mother's Day

Yesterday the girls were telling me they would be waking up in the "3's" (3:00am) to put together a surprise for me this Mother's Day morning. I told them it would be better to get up in the "6's", because I would wake up in the "7's". They talked all day yesterday about what they would be doing - whispering to each other and telling Dave. Well, this morning in the "6's" I heard what I thought were door knocks. Dave went to check that out. The girls were safely in the family room - just sitting there. Dave asked them what they were doing. They said they didn't know what to do!! Dave took all three girls to Dunkin Donuts to pick me up breakfast. Drew and I got a few extra zzzz's in the unusually quiet house. I was surprised to breakfast in bed and a homemade pin and card from Amelia, already had received my card from Ava on Friday, and lots of kisses and hugs from my babies.

We had a wonderful day of just hanging out here and working outside.

Happy Mother's Day to our great moms too!

24 + 1

I was going to stop at 24 months, BUT I just can't...so bear with me people.... Jenna is now 25 months!!! :) Jenna has thrown me for a loop since we've moved (sleep wise). I had to purchase a crib tent because I couldn't think of any other way to keep her safe. The crib tent doesn't look as bad as it sounds.. At the present time, Jenna will go down for her naps without incident, but IS crying for close to an hour at bedtime before falling asleep. Jenna is saying a lot now. You can understand a lot of what she says. She's started singing songs - Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle, ABC's..that kind of stuff. She still loves her riding toys and riding her bikes and her trying to ride her sisters bikes outside. She loves to look at our neighbors dogs out the windows and on our walks in the neighborhood. She copies the girls for everything and is aware of everything going on around her no matter how much you try to keep her from things. She even gets ready for her bath - taking her clothes off, throwing them in the laundry, sitting on the potty (not going), wiping herself and getting into the tub. Jenna still loves The Wiggles - especially Hot Potato. She knows all the movements to the songs from her video watching. Today we went to "Hello School". She's sporting her turtle tats on her hands in the picture above. Jenna loves her class - clinging to me for 1/2 of it and right on the teachers lap for the other 1/2 of it.

Workin'

We've all been working hard here on our many, many projects. Seems like we start the day going in one direction and end up somewhere else. As I said, there are many, many projects......Today, we've been working in the back yard around the pool. We've got the hot tub up and running, trimmed back some bushes and weeded some mulch areas. Yes, that's Ava working, and yes she's wearing heels and her dress up skirt. That picture is cracking me up - Dave is breaking up twigs to fit into the yard waste bags. He's breaking sticks. That's all. The pool man is coming this Wednesday to uncover the pool and open it. What will we find? Hopefully no suprises.

Easter Weekend

Had a great weekend. Did some work around the house on Sat. morning. Grandma and Grandpa came over in the afternoon. Grandma took the older girls to a snake show while the rest of us took it easy here at the house. We went to The Cracked Claw for dinner to celebrate April birthdays. We had a great dinner - Andrew enjoying his chicken tenders until he discovered he loved my crab imperial more, Amelia devouring her mussels and rating them high on her list, Ava enjoying her onions - I mean her salad, and anything to keep Jenna at our table - goldfish, coke, and chips, oh and more coke.... (BTW...Jenna's not in the group shot above because she preferred to run off into the car to play with the all the buttons - that will be a post soon - how I had to get her out of our locked minivan)......

Sunday ....the kids loved their Easter baskets. They didn't seem to be anticipating them at all. We had our egg hunt for the kids, and then the girls hid their eggs for Dave and I to find. (Nice to find 10 eggs under just one pillow on the couch :). We went to Grannie's for Easter dinner. Thanks Grannie and Uncle Jon for all the work.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

One more day off today for spring break and then back to the grind....
