First thing... Warning... this post contains some insider scoop of our household which I am not proud of....
Okay, with that being said... Here's the post:
EVERYONE is aware that Ava is TV Queen, right? Ava loves her tv and even more Ava loves her stuffed animal Doggie.
Ava came home from CCD the night of Ash Wednesday with two announcements for us. Ava wanted to be closer to God. She told us she decided to give up sleeping with Doggie for one full week - and she did! Ava slept with Firework her colorful dolphin instead. Ava also announced that night that she was giving up tv watching for Lent. Amelia and Ava have their very own tv in their room and are allowed to watch it on non-school nights. Ava's first issue was how was she going to not watch tv on these special tv nights? She declared she would hide under her bed until the tv was off. Next, was the issue of tv watching during dinner time. Yes, we all sit around our coffee table and eat dinner together in front of the tv. I know.....not good. Well, the next night during dinner, I had forgotten Ava's announcement. We all sat down to dinner as we always do. Ava took her plate and brought it into the kitchen to eat by herself - away from the tv. We thought about it there for a brief second, and you will be happy to know.. the tv went off and Ava returned. No tv at dinner! Tonight, I caught Ava not watching tv, but looking at the reflection of the tv in a picture frame hanging on our wall. It was her favorite show Adventure Time. She wants to know, "Is that watching tv, or is it watching a reflection?" We are very proud of Ava. She is one strong and determined girl!
