Change Is Coming....

Our home was on the market for over 3 months last summer through fall. We had less than 10 showings, and lost the home we originally put our house on the market for - all disheartening for us...

We decided to put our house back on the market with a realtor who works a lot with homes in our neighborhood. Within a week of listing this, we found a recently listed house close by in the next town that we liked, and went ahead and placed an offer. The house is on an acre of land, has a pool and hot tub, nice deck and rooms for Dave, Drew & I on the main level, and the girls upstairs, and plenty of space! Our offer was accepted, but we were only given a month to sell this house or our offer would expire. WELL......our realtor said no problems that our house would sell (we were skeptical)....we found out on Monday that after 18 showings in less than a month's time - a couple who came here an hour and a half late for their scheduled showing a few weeks ago, and walked through our home in the early evening while we watched, and also returned on the evening of Valentine's Day, and was supposed to come this Saturday and canceled with a sick child, DID put an offer in on our home!! We thought the offer was fair and as long as inspections and loan applications go well for all parties- we will move at the end of March. We will settle on this home March 30th, settle on the new home March 31st, and rent back until April 2nd. Very fast!

We are happy to not have to have our house in tip top shape anymore, and were getting very tired of spending the weekends preparing for showings and making ourselves scarce for hours at a time. (BTW, making ourselves scarce usually involved trips to Starbucks, McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts. Not very good for any of us!)

Drew & Ava can stay in their current schools. I am hoping, and am pretty sure it won't be an issue to let Amelia finish out her year here at her current school. Amelia & Ava will attend the same Elementary school closer to our new house next school year. We told the older girls the news and that our new house would have a pool, more space and that they would be taking the bus back and forth to school. Well, the bus thing sealed the deal for them!

We are sad to leave this home. A lot has happened here, but it is necessary to get the right accomodations for Drew so that our lives will be easier in that regard. Hoping all the pieces fall into place in the next month for a smooth transition. I hope to get a new house picture posted soon.
