Last night Amelia graduated from UHS Kiddie Hawks Preschool. We all cheered Amelia on as she took part in the "African Adventure" program and received her diploma with her class in the high school auditorium. Now on to Kindergarten!!!
This past Saturday, May 2nd my friend Melissa organized a shower for Jenna and I. Friends who I've known since high school (Ann, Laurie & Michelle) came, and friends who I have met over the past few years, (Mary, Danelle, Denise, Colette, Kim, & Crista) came, and family (my mom, Dave's mom and Jaclyn) all took time from their busy schedules to spend Saturday afternoon at the shower.
The shower was held in Melissa's dad's building in downtown Frederick. Melissa decorated the conference room with pinks, greens and white, and a hanging clothes line with diapers and clothes for Jenna. After eating, each mom, and mom-to-be wrote down advice for me to use while raising my kids. I was to guess who wrote each piece of advice. Per usual, Jenna slept through 99% of the festivities - even as she was passed around from mom to mom.
Thank you to all of my friends and family for spending the day with Jenna and I. I know everyone is very busy. Also, thank you all for such beautiful baby clothes and for all the baby gear. Jenna will surely be the best dressed baby in Frederick! Thank you Melissa for organizing all of this and to all the helpers as well. It was all so wonderful, and yes I do feel all the love. :)
My high school friends Emily, Carolyn, Carole and their daughters came over on Saturday morning with brunch to meet Jenna. Dave and Andrew went out for the morning to do "manly" things, while all the girls came over and caught up. All the girls traveled from out of state and put together a delicious brunch. My friends have been there for me for many years now (like over 20 years :)), it meant a lot to me to have my friends meet Jenna and share in the joy that she is bringing. We don't get together as often as we should due to our busy lives - I know everyone is very busy with their families, so THANK YOU ladies for everything!!!
And as a surprise, I got the call from my friend Beth that she was also visiting on Saturday - also traveling from out of state. So, I was able to catch up with Beth, my god daughter Erin and baby Eli. So in one morning's time, I was able to catch up with very close friends I rarely see in person.
I turned 39 yesterday. Our friend Melissa who lives close by brought over dinner (birthday cake and all!). Since Jenna's arrival she had arranged for our family to have dinner delivered by friends twice a week the entire month of April. How awesome is that!! THANK YOU Melissa!! THANK YOU Judy, Denise, Colette, Mary, Michelle, Cindy & Danelle!!!
