Happy Birthday to Me!

My birthday weekend was great!  We planted our vegetable garden.  Here it is! (Nevermind the finger in the corner- ooops!)

We took a selfie before I headed out to dinner with friends on Saturday night.

Ava was gone for a sleepover for the selfie, so she gets to pose with my tulips today.

Dinner with Grandma and Grandpa.  Drew LOVES it!  We all loved it!

Beautiful flowers.  Thank you!  On to being 44 and hoping to be healthy and hoping to have all this thyroid stuff behind me.  My surgeon said on Thursday he would not do anything further to treat the cancerous nodule that was removed. 

White House Easter Egg Roll!

I've been trying for 14 years to get tickets to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.  This year...was our year... we were picked in the lottery for the last time slot 4:45-6:45pm!  The kids went to school this morning.  I picked them up two hours early and we headed down town.  Lots of people, lots of lines, lots of security, lots of grass and hills.... Cool experience, and now happy to say that we've done it....

Thyroid

The results from my surgery have come in to reveal the nodule on my thyroid is Papillary Cancer.  On to see my surgeon this coming Thursday, April 24th for my follow up and for the next plan of action.  So much for the expert surgeon saying it "didn't look like cancer" when he took my thyroid out of me.....  Ugh....

This was the sky here this afternoon.  Yesterday temperatures were in the upper 70's.  Tonight temperatures are expected to be at the freezing mark.  We saw sleet and snow at dinner.  Winter go away.

My favorite shellling find this trip.  Tons and tons of sandollars, popping out and moving along the sandbar.

Our family called this "Conch Corner".  This was the scene every evening in the same exact spot.  Hundreds and hundreds of fighting conches.

Best Playground ever!  We made 3 trips there.
