Summer Fun

Drew came home from camp yesterday with his Olympic hockey team stick, his Olympic torch, American Flag and Olympic medal. Drew is ready for the Olympics!! Oh and camp is DONE!

Amelia and Ava are in that blurry picture (see them in the center???). Today was the last day of their Vacation Bible School at church. They learned lots of songs this week.

I had a doctor appointment this afternoon and came home to THIS!!! Jenna asleep on Dave's chest. This would be the first nap that Jenna has taken since she gave up her nap several months ago. It's not often you get a photo of a sleeping Jenna. We are preparing for Andrew's birthday and DREWZAPOLOOZA!

Mount Airy Carnival Fun

At this point the girls told me they were praying to Jesus that they wouldn't be scared as they went higher and higher up.

and... their prayers were answered! All was good! We decided last minute with the weather being perfect that tonight we would try out the Mount Airy Fireman's Carnival which is now in full swing. In "our family's usual way" though we didn't buy the "ride all night" wristband which would have allowed for unlimited fun for for the kids for hours.... no, no we paid a mere $30 for a few rides for each of the girls...Cheeeezz.. I'm pretty sure though a good time was had by all. Everyone left the carnival just fine, but by the time we were driving down our neighborhood street, Jenna was beginning to cry and wanted to go back! When we got home, we got her out of her carseat, and she rain like a bullet down the street hoping to make her way back to the carnival. In "our family's usual way".. instead of carnival ice cream, even ice cream at HOME wouldn't make Jenna happy.

Park Fun

The weather was cooler this weekend. Great time this evening to hang out at the park.

Bowling Field Trip

I joined Andrew today on his trip to the bowling alley for his summer camp field trip. We had a great time, and Drew's score was 112!!! The best of the group!! :)

BEST Friends

Swimming at night! It has been a weekend of FRIENDS for me! Friday night went to dinner with my "Rock Creek Mom" friends. Saturday celebrated Ann's daughter Mia turning five, and Saturday night Beth and her family arrived for the night. Hotel Ablondi is now closed once again.

Summer Boat Ride

It was Jenna's turn for a boat ride at Black Rock Lake in Germantown today! Jenna wore her life vest for about two minutes.

Jenna is looking for dragon flys, turtles, birds and beavers.

Dave and the girls went to a Nats game yesterday. Too hot for the rest of us!

Another week of camp.....

Day #1 of Camp Monocacy. The girls came home today good and tired and said they had fun. Ava also lost that tooth that had just been hanging on way to long. She hopes the tooth fairy will leave her her tooth.

Hotel Ablondi is closed for the week. Thanks for coming Ken & Kenny.

When Drew and the girls are gone and it's nice and cool outside.... what to do???!! Ride bikes with mom and dad!

Performance

My mom and brother have been without power since last Friday night. They have been staying with us. The girls have been putting on dance shows for us - Peter Pan and the Lost Treasure and Sleeping Beauty. They get in full costume, have their own parts in the shows and dance around to music. At one point Jenna became distracted and was taking pictures for me. Uncle Jon has become a great new story reader for Jenna. Today our family went to Wolftrap - Theatre in the Woods to see Elizabeth Mitchell. (We have several of her cds - she also sings "You are my Sunshine" (Jenna's favorite). Elizabeth Mitchell is in the bottom photo, signing a cd for Jenna.

Cousin Pool Time

Temperatures are in the upper 90's. Cousins Collin, Jaxson, Savannah & Eli came over for a swim today.
