Beach Week

Last week (Sat. 6/19- Sat. 6/26) we enjoyed our stay in Corolla, North Carolina with our extended family. This is the 7th year where Grandma and Grandpa have arranged our beach trip. We travel from Maryland, Virginia and Arkansas. We stayed in the same house (The Voyage - newly painted green...) as last year - a block from the beach, and a short walk for Dave and I for our morning coffee and bagels. We had a great week at the beach, in the pool, and lots of family time.

Most of all, Amelia and Ava loved their cousin time and their late nights at the beach and the pool. Drew loved a lot of time in the pool and ocean. Jenna loved exploring new people, a new house, the ocean, sand and pool. Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma for the fun! These are memories that we will always cherish.

I dropped my precious camera in the ocean mid-week. I have pictures from the first half of the week and have to point out that I had serious withdrawls from not having my camera attached to me at all times.......The pictures above are as follows: the girls enjoying the beach, Drew's cool ride to the beach (borrowed from the fire station), Jenna and I on an early, early morning walk before Dave figured out that those early morning walks are REALLY VERY NICE and decided that he would start taking them instead of me, Grandma and Grandpa with Jenna as they guard her from taking a nose dive directly into the ocean waves, Dave and my sweet smiley Drew enjoying some rest time, and Amelia in her blue butterfly chair in Duck (I have taken her picture in this chair every year since six months of age).

SCHOOL'S OUT!!! - Summer Begins!

Today, the kids had their last day of school for this school year. This morning, Amelia said she was "in the middle" in her feelings that school was over. She would miss her friends and her teacher, but was happy to have summer here and the school work over. The pictures above are of Drew as he got off the bus this afternoon, Amelia this morning with her rose for Mrs. White her teacher, and that's Ava with her ladybug crown she made at her end of year party. Drew will begin middle school; Amelia - first grade; and Ava will begin her 2nd year of Montessori pre-school in August. Now for some summertime fun!!

Tooth Fairy Pays a Visit....

Last night, I was out visiting my friend Ann and her new baby Zoe and got a call from Amelia (who should have been asleep) - "Mom I was wiggling my tooth and it came out and it didn't even hurt!" Amelia's front tooth has been loose for weeks which was starting to frustrate her greatly. I got home to find two very excited girls and frantic Dave searching the girls room for Amelia's tooth which was now missing. No worries, I found the missing tooth and we tucked it away for the tooth fairy. The picture is of Amelia this morning (less one baby tooth) and her prize from the tooth fairy.

14

Jenna is 14 months old today!!
Last night slept through from 7:30pm-6:15am (only the second time in 14 months!! - kind of thought that was noteworthy! :) Jenna's still got her blue eyes, straight light brown hair is getting longer, and has 8 teeth - 4 on top and 4 on bottom. She says "ni-ni" and all-done. You know when it's time for nap/bed when she starts stumbling around and saying "ni-ni". She's good about going down to sleep - it's the sleeping through the night that's rare. Jenna had been drinking milk now for about two weeks and that's good. I was worried she was allergic to it, with her face all broken out, but no. She loves eating fruit the most. She's usually very easy going with her mood - she's happy in the car now, happy to be chased throughout the house by her sisters, loves pushing Drew's wheelchair and kitchen chairs around, loves her ride on toys and even pushes her sisters on the ride on toys.....loves the action. She won't sit in the bath tub, only stand. She's jealous if I sit with Andrew, or do things with the girls like combing their hair. She will weazel her way right between me and who I'm with.
With only 8 school days left.....looking forward to a busy summer!
