The Weekend

started off with a trip to pick strawberries.... Drew enjoyed being outside, the girls and I picked strawberries and Jenna well.... she enjoyed pulling and standing in the wagon, tumbling down over and over the slightest hill adjacent to the patch, and eating anything she found on the ground.
Today Dave, Drew & I went to see the Nationals play. Dave had mentioned a few weeks ago that he would like to see a game at the new stadium...so for his birthday I bought tickets and today was they day we went to see the Nats play the O's. The Nats won 4-3! And of course some pictures........

Date Night & WALK

Last night Dave & I took Ava out on a date to her school function. Grandma was great to come up and watch the other kids while Dave and I could spend some one on one time with Ava, but I think Ava did prefer spending the time more with her classmates and teacher then with boring old us!
Today was the Epilepsy Walk for CURE at Middletown Park. The day started cold, rainy and windy, but the rain did end just in time for the walk. My friend arranged for a 1 mile and 3 mile walk. Refreshments were served and entertainment was provided by a local band. Over 80 people participated, and to date with everyone's efforts over $1800 has been raised for CURE. Thanks to family and friends who came today, and who made a donation to CURE.

Endless Entertainment....

Note: the trash can perfectly holding up the dishwasher door....and the cabinet there was full of baby food - all the food is now in that trash can. I didn't leave that dishwasher open either!!
Won't one of my girls find joy in playing with baby dolls, like I did?

13/Homestead

Jenna is 13 months old today. Last Tuesday I turned 40, and for my birthday Dave made arrangements for our family to spend the night at The Homestead in Hot Springs, VA (about 4 hours away). We had a great time -swimming in the hot pool, fancy dinner, fancy breakfast, afternoon tea, and checking out the beautiful grounds. We were gone for only one night, each sister had a sick time, but did pull through and enjoyed the pool, the newt and snail, the piano, and running through the ballrooms. No surprise, the pool was a hit for Drew. As a special treat for me, Dave arranged for me to have an hour long massage at 11:00am today. Needless to say, I did not want to come home after that...... Thank you to my husband!

At 13 months Jenna is running around the house getting in all sorts or mischief. Her funniest game currently is climbing up the stairs and giggling away when we catch her. She points if you ask her where mommy or daddy is and will wave a crazy wave if she's waved too. She's also using her pointer finger to push buttons and turn things on and off. She says "golly, golly, golly" a lot. We've been having a hard time narrowing down the never ending rash and redness that consumes Jenna's face, eyes, and torso. The dermatologist says eczema, and has given us instructions for caring for Jenna's sensitive skin. Hopefully this new regimen will bring back my girl's beautiful smooth baby skin!

The week ahead should be busy... something going on with each school.
